Notifications

(Build 3096)

Back to Contents

This section contains some of the basic settings, including controlling which notifications are sent.

Site
  • Site Name

This allows you to give the system an easy to identify site name.

This is very useful if you are using StableBit Scanner at multiple sites (such as a business you manage the computers for, or for your parents), as it allows for quick and easy identification of the system's location.

  • Automatically propagate to all copies of the StableBit Scanner running on the local network (LAN).

This option sets the name site name for other devices on the network that don't already have a name. This means that new systems will also pick up this name, so you don't have to specify it for each system on the network.

Notification types
  • Notify on unreadable sectors

Enabling this will cause StableBit Scanner to send you a notification when it has detected unreadable sectors.

  • Notify when a file system is damaged

Enabling this will cause StableBit Scanner to send you a notification when it has detected damage to one or more file systems.

  • Notify when a disk is overheating

Enabling this will cause StableBit Scanner to send you a notification when one or more disks have exceeded the set maximum temperature, or exceeded the warning threshold.

  • Use cooldown threshold of

This option will prevent a notification from being sent again, until the disk has dropped the specified amount below the warning threshold. This prevents StableBit Scanner from spamming you with notifications, if the disk is hovering around the threshold.

  • Notify on S.M.A.R.T. warnings

Enabling this will cause StableBit Scanner to send you a notification when it detects any S.M.A.R.T. errors on the disks in your system.
